NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY on these Baja kayaking vacations. As in many casual athletic activities, a positive attitude and good health are more important than being in top shape. Paddling (easy to moderate, average of 3 to 4 hours a day) will not be strenuous, though regular exercise before your trip would add to your enjoyment. INCLUDES: Two hotel nights in the Loreto (double ocp.), all meals while camping, guides, tents, kayaks and all equipment. EXCLUDES: Airfare to Loreto, alcoholic beverages, meals in town (to allow for individual choice), insurance of any kind, personal items, sleeping bag & pad. NOTE: Upon reserving your Baja kayaking vacation, we will send you “Clothing and What-to-Bring” list. You will also receive an Invoice/Confimation, a Medical form & a Liability Release form. SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: Hotel and tent and tent accommodations are based on double occupancy. If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodations, we will match you with a room/tent mate of the same sex if one is available. If there is no one with whom you can share, or if you prefer single hotel accommodations, you are requested to pay the single supplement fee listed.
LOCATION: On the eastern coast of Baja, on the Sea of Cortez, about 750 miles south of the border (less than 2 hour flight from Los Angeles USA) you will find the old mission town of Loreto, the starting point for our Sierra Giganta, Baja kayaking expeditions.
TRIP DESCRIPTION: We named these Baja kayaking vacations after the Sierra Giganta mountain range towering above the Sea of Cortez, creating a stunningly beautiful backdrop for the entire expedition. Sand beaches sculpted by the elements, and colored from a palette of reds, yellows and blues, make each campsite seem more idyllic than the last. Canyon hikes take us into the coastal mountains to explore the diversity of plant and animal life, while kayaking allows an intimate exploration of the many coves and small islands. |

| Snorkeling is wonderful. The clear waters of the Sea of Cortez teem with exotically colored fish and the area is visited frequently by large schools of dolphins. We often encounter some of the dozen species of whales that frequent the Sea of Cortez, and with a little luck, maybe a Finback or a Blue whale - the largest of all. |
